Som-er-set la la la, Som-er-set la la la..

My weekend:

Friday night spent with Jemma my lovely misses on a nearby park area (any similarities to Victoria Park Golf course are purely coincidental).

We were respectful of the fierce one-legged man who owns the course. He has 2 dogs, so I was ready at the slightest hint of a bark to do the manly think and leg it as far away as possible. Fortunately though his minion spies (in the shape of dog walkers) failed to report our presence to him.

Saturday evening I spent with Mr. K growling at Clive Tyldesley's declarations of love towards José Mourinho. Who we reckon is 1/3 of Mr. Tyldesley's all time fantasy threesome. There's a Knight of the Realm who might also make it in there. I also chose to try Ham & Asparagus quiche. It was satisfactory, though quite similar to the Cheese & Bacon one.

Sunday I went with the Yid to the 'Rec' to see Somerset Sabres play Worcestershire Wankers Pears. It was oh so very hot. It was also however a decent game and we had front row seats so got close and personal with 2 of the Sabres star men - Alfonso Thomas and Peter Trego.

Due to Worcestershire's efforts to get their first win of the season it was a fiercely contested and intriguing match. This didn't stop me and the lady on my other side discussing exactly what Trego had tattoo'd on his arm. It appears the answer is a fish, a lotus and the names of his children.

The Yid and I also queued for an ice-cream. The queue was a bit like a mirage in that the more people bought their ice-creams and moved on the more it felt like the queue was still just as big as when we started. In the end though we heroically got out of there ice-creams in tact. I was unaware honeycomb flavour was an option so decided to give it a whirl (boom boom) and was pleased with the result.

Due to the searing heat, we made it back to our seats with the all the speed of Stephen Hawking on bath night. Somerset delighted their fans with a hard fought win that was in no small part achieved due to the encouragement of drunken and out of tune versions of Wurzel classics "I am a Cider Drinker" and "Blackbird" that came from the cider tent. It was a good end to a good weekend.
