Seasonal Frenzy

I've been wondering recently whether or not I feel Christmassy, or am I in the Christmas mood? Today I finally came to the conclusion that yes I am. I reached this state of enlightenment whilst in an endless queue to merely withdraw money from a cash machine. And that is what made me feel Christmassy - the queue, the bleeping queue.

Whether you're shopping or just trying to get to the end of the road one thing Christmas always brings is a horde of people who are either in a hurry to get everywhere and block your path, or who are mind-numbingly static and serve as a rage-inducing obstacle also.

Yes, right there in the middle of the bleeping pavement 2 inches from your left foot which is now physically shaking from the restraint of not delivering a gentle kick to the bleeping confused statue in front of you.

Perhaps I should go carol-singing to generate some Christmas spirit no doubt some of you are thinking. This sort of plan though never allows space for the reality of the Christmas syndrome. That we truly experience the seasonal spirit when we are behind closed doors and far away from the main threat to our joyful loving demeanour - other bleeping people.
