Last night I watched "Squeeze" - episode 3 of the 1st series of X Files. It is about a very old genetically mutated serial killer who steals the livers of his victims. Eugene Tooms is the villain who can stretch and contract his body to 'squeeze' though air vents and the like. He needs the livers to energize him during his 30 year hibernation between killing sprees.
One of the subplots involves Scully's old friend from her time at F.B.I. school. He is in charge of the case and asks Scully for help. Mulder's popularity precedes him and his involvement is met with the usual mockery and hostility. Not for the last time he is proved right.
